BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Epoq US, Inc. (formerly Network Legal Solutions, Inc.) was founded by Richard S. Granat in 1995 to develop innovative approaches to using the Internet to deliver legal services.  The company was established to respond to the enormous inefficiencies in the legal services sector and to address the fact that there was little development of "consumer" or "client-facing" approaches to the delivery of legal services.

In January 2000, the company entered into a strategic alliance with Epoq Holdings, plc in the United Kingdom, in order to import Rapidocs, Epoq's revolutionary web-enabled document assembly into the US.  Shortly thereafter, Epoq, US, Inc., launched its revolutionary SmartLegalForms web service (www.smartlegalforms.com), which enabled users to assemble complex legal documents or Adobe .pdf forms using the custom-built Rapidocs software, (http://www.rapidocs.com) which "interviews" users and creates complex documents tailored to their circumstances.  Many other automated legal document and legal information web sites have been published by Epoq, US, Inc. since January 2000.

In an attempt to provide purchasers of pre-paid legal insurance plans with an all-in-one package to meet all their legal needs, LawExpress (www.lawexpress.com) was launched in July 2000 by The ARAGGROUP, LLC., one of the largest pre-paid legal insurers in the US.  Epoq US, Inc. provides automated legal forms and legal information to this site and other ARAG web sites.

We have since undertaken projects for the Maryland Legal Aid Network Project (www.mlan.org), the American Association of Retired Persons, (www.aarp.org) and ProFin (17th largest insurer in the US).

Today, Epoq US, Inc. publishes over 20 highly specific legal document and legal information web sites, either directly or on behalf of clients, and serves over 400,000 users a month.
